Message from Pure Tibet Travel
It is a great honor for me to share this message with you on behalf of our company. Pure Tibet Travel Company (PTTC), with its one office located in Tibet, China, is a sustainable, and wholly Tibetan owned travel service company dedicated to providing high quality service for our clients during their visits to "the roof of the world." In addition, we are determined to promote sustainable tourism development in Tibet while positively impacting the local culture, society, and ecology. Moreover, we are committed to giving back to the region financially. All these efforts are being carried out and accomplished with the utmost integrity and high ethical standards.
PTTC was officially founded in 2010, but the vision for the scope and purpose of the company grew out of my years of working experience leading development projects in the Mount Everest region while employed with World Concern, a Seattle-based U.S. non-profit organization. Through this work and later study of Pre-MBA at Whitworth University as well the completion of a Masters Degree in International Development at Eastern University in Pennsylvania (USA), I came to understand the responsibility a company has to its clients and employees, and to the environment, culture, and people impacted by our actions and activities.
Our staff comes primarily from Tibet; they all have a deep understanding of Tibetan culture and its traditional roots. Each of our personnel has a strong desire to unveil the "real' Tibet to our clients. Additionally, the expertise we bring as Tibetans gives our clients a special and greater experience beyond the other standard tourist itineraries and enables us to provide tours that are culturally sensitive and insightful.
As a company, we esteem the importance of operating by a strong set of ethical standards in order to maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity. It is PTTC's policy, regardless of the time or effort needed, that every single member of the company will abide by and adhere to the following principles. We reject any unfair profit-seeking; we pursue growth of the business through honesty and hard work; we value the fruit of hard work, and shall give back a certain percentage to society; and we emphasize providing opportunities for staff members to fully develop their potential as we pursue our company's common vision.
In conclusion, we would like to add that Pure Tibet Travel Company deeply appreciates your interest in our company and look forward to an opportunity to serve you well.
Sincerely,
Chamba Tsering ( Founder and CEO )
TOP TEN REASONS YOU SHOULD TRAVEL TO THE ROOF OF THE WORLD WITH PURE TIBET
1. We are home grown with deep roots into the culture.
Pure Tibet Travel Company is owned and staffed by local Tibetans who are committed to: (1) the highest quality experience for you, our clients; (2) integrity in all that we do; (3) a deep respect for the place, people and culture you will become a part of during your visit to the “roof of the world.” Our life experience and knowledge of Tibet ensures that your travel with us will provide an encounter with Tibet that is both meaningful and unique, exceeding what you will find with most standard tourist itineraries. Finally, as a demonstration of our commitment to the people and environment in the regions where you will travel, a designated portion of all profits are donated to ongoing, sustainable, development projects in Tibet.
2. We deeply appreciate and desire to share our culture.
The name for our company, Pure Tibet Travel, was chosen with great care. It comes from the Tibetan idea of “Nechok Sheengkham,” a concept difficult to communicate in simple English terms. It conveys the powerful notion of interweaving the purity of heart, spirit and action together with a deep respect for one’s land, culture and future. Come to Tibet and let us help you discover the deep meaning of Pure Tibet.
3. The company was started out of conviction and purpose.
The company was birthed from the founder’s involvement with rural development projects in remote villages throughout the Mount Everest region. Through his work and later study of pre-MBA at Whitworth University in Washington state as well as the completion of a Masters Degree in International Development at Eastern University in Pennsylvania (USA), he came to understand the responsibility a company has to its clients and employees, and to the environment, culture, and people impacted by that company’s actions and activities. During the start-up phase of the company, two partners were identified who shared common interests and values in such a venture and were willing to invest the resources necessary to bring the company into existence.
4. We have a clear vision.
Since its inception in 2010, Pure Tibet Travel has been operating successfully and continues to maintain a vision for future growth. Of first importance, it is committed to operating as a socially responsible travel company with outstanding products and services for both local and global clients. Secondly, the company seeks to be respected for its involvement in the community and in ecologically sustainable development projects as a result of its commitment to share profits in such endeavors. Third, but of equal importance, it strives to be a model in the travel industry, inspiring others in the field to have an equal and positive impact in the world. Finally, Pure Tibet Travel desires to be known for its pioneering in the approach of utilizing available local resources in helping the surrounding community.
5. We are determined in our mission.
- To establish a company where ordinary people can find joy and purpose in their work.
- To pursue the best products and services for its customers.
- To provide a platform for cross-cultural exchange and understanding with the goal of promoting global harmony.
- To become a model of doing business responsibly by being actively involved in sustainable development.
- To share with the world the best of what Tibetan culture has to offer.
6. We are committed to strict management guidelines in running our business.
We reject any unfair profit-seeking. For example, we refuse to exploit or take unfair advantage of our clients in any way. We pursue growth of business through honesty and hard work. We value the fruit of hard labor, and commit to investing a pre-determined percentage of all profits back into the community. We place an emphasis on staff development, realizing that employees equipped with the right skills and abilities will empower the company to achieve its vision of excellence in all things.
7. We make listening to you a priority.
Each day brings opportunity for a new beginning, and with it a chance to reinvent ourselves. Listening to our clients is the best way for us to keep this option a reality and thus respond to the needs of the market. We will be ready to listen anytime, looking for ways to better serve you.
8. We believe the need for improvement always exists.
We will not be satisfied with the status quo but instead take every advantage of learning from our own experience as well as other companies in the area of management, marketing, business skills, and capacity development. We will not ignore our pitfalls and mistakes but will honestly examine each one always desiring to improve our business operation so as to better serve our clients.
9. We will remain steadfast in what we have started.
